To cut cost and for more fun, a custom housing might be designed. There are no special requirements on the material used for now.

But the thickess of some walls is important because of the potentiometers, buttons and connectors sticking through it:

  • top plate (main UI): 1.0 to 2.0 mm
  • front side (headphone jacks): 1.0 to 2.0 mm
  • back side (XLR line in and out, mains supply): less than 3 mm

Please see the BoM section of the readme for the model numbers of the used connectors, potentiometers and buttons and use their data sheets for the required hole pattern:

  • XLR connector: plane area of at least 23 mm height needed, better 25 mm + PCB thickness (1.6 mm)

Possible options:

    • CF28-28{GS,BB}: 50 mm H1 (27 mm panel), 99 mm H2 (72 mm panel), 280 mm W (261 mm panel), 280 mm D (238 mm panel)
    • CF36-28{GS,BB}: Same as above, but 360 mm wide
    • Only available for > 100 USD
  • https://www.bopla.de/gehaeusetechnik/alu-topline
    • XLR connection does not fit on front side
  • Hammond 1456 series
    • 1456PH3BKBU: 40 mm H1 (31 mm panel), 76 mm H2 (72 mm panel), 356 mm W, 211 mm D, ~ 60 € (incl. VAT)
    • 1456KH3BKBU: same as above, but 254 mm wide, ~ 50 € (incl. VAT) -> might be a bit too narrow

New distance between mixer PCB and front plate is about 9 mm
