To cut cost and for more fun, a custom housing might be designed. There are no special requirements on the material used for now.
But the thickess of some walls is important because of the potentiometers, buttons and connectors sticking through it:
top plate (main UI): 1.0 to 2.0 mm
front side (headphone jacks): 1.0 to 2.0 mm
back side (XLR line in and out, mains supply): less than 3 mm
Please see the BoM section of the readme for the model numbers of the used connectors, potentiometers and buttons and use their data sheets for the required hole pattern:
XLR connector: plane area of at least 23 mm height needed, better 25 mm + PCB thickness (1.6 mm)
