Option to start at elevation of selected token #233
Comments
What you are describing is not the behavior I am seeing or intending for Elevation Ruler. Here is how it is supposed to work: Token RulerWhen dragging a token, the ruler defaults to the elevation of the token. E.g., when dragging a 10' token, its elevation remains at 10'. Only if you hit the assigned hot key (default: "G"), will the ruler switch to "ground" elevation. So if you are dragging a token at 100 feet above the ground, moving the ruler off the token immediately has it start at 100 feet. There may be no elevation indicator, because that only appears if you change elevation from the origin. Regular RulerSimliarly, if you start a regular ruler measure from a token, the elevation remains at that token's elevation. (Again, you can temporarily change this with the assigned hot key (default: "G").) Further, if you measure to another token, the ruler defaults to the elevation of the token over which you are hovering. And again, there may be no elevation indicator unless you actually change elevation. So I think the ruler is doing what you want, but if not, feel free to respond with more information. I will leave this comment open for awhile. |
It was not doing that, it was changing to 0' immediately after moving off the token. I'll take a video next time I have that Foundry world up and share it. |

Please add an option to set the default elevation to that of the token.
For example, if a Token is flying 100 feet above the ground, moving the ruler off the token immediately has it start out at 0 feet, making it cumbersome to navigate flying enemies. A check box to change this behavior to maintain the 100' elevation when moving, and adjusting form there would be preferred.
