Summary

  • The transit ridership dashboard initially developed in Fall 2022, requires updates to enhance the relevance, functionality and utility for stakeholders, particularly CARB and AHSC grant applicants.
  • This epic at present focuses on the initial update required to migrate the dashboard to warehouse v2, integrate NTD data, and update the ACS data.
  • Future updates may include adding more variables to the ridership model, utilizing different modeling approaches, tweaking the model, acquiring additional and updated stop-level data from partners, adding more agencies during the modeling process and others.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders including CARB, AHSC grant applicants and transit agencies, is crucial throughout the update process.
  • The goal is to continuously enhance the dashboard's usability and relevance through iterative updates.

Research required:

  • What evidence-based methodologies can support the integration of NTD data, the migration of dashboard to v2 and the updating of ACS data within the dashboard?
  • How can these methodologies be operationalized to create practical solutions for dashboard updates?
  • How has monthly NTD data been utilized in the dashboard previously and what adjustments are necessary to accommodate the updated integration methods?
  • What additional variables, modeling approaches and data sources can be explored to enhance the relevance and performances in future updates?
