#9 replaces the expression value evaluator with a heavier/more comprehensive one. Type checking continues to use the existing code in Vars.TypeCheck. This seems like another missing feature to consider adding to fortran-src, then porting back here.

As of 2023-05-22, fortran-src doesn't provide an expression type evaluator.
