This has been brought up earlier in the UG and the problem increases with addition of new elements.
Main issue is when a record holds no information for an element “Not available” or same phrasing in metadata language of the record is shown.
Not all information elements might be relevant for the record (for instance series and related publications)
Alot of “not available” elements can put the record/SP in a “bad light”
Metadata people at SPs might be interested in viewing the CDC to see what information they are not providing.They might have this information in their holdings, but it is either
- not harvested correctly, or
- they are using a “wrong” element not compliant with profile
Suggestion of elements to always be shown (decided by UG)

Elements that can be filtered should always be shown
First post of issue has been updated to reflect decisions in UG. MO/TM has clarified that it is possible to create a "default" and "detailed" view. These changes should be included when we do a design rework of the detailed page
