Discussions in the Governance Panel have shown that we need to

  • Update the PR templates so that enhancements can predicate an update to the author list, whereas defects predicate an update to the contributors list
  • Update Rules to be in line with the templates
  • Moving forward, list additional contributors by name. I’m not sure if it would be as straightforward looking back but would be open to that too.

This issue will help us pursue these items, but note that the first point will need to be pursued in the Conventions repo.

Thanks, @erget. Do you have text changes to propose to the rules?

As contributors to the conventions, I agree that we should name all those who've contributed a defect issue that has been implemented in the conventions document in GitHub. I think we can make best efforts to identify such contributors of trac tickets in the past as well.

Hi @JonathanGregory , not yet - I'm a bit short on time this week and haven't started following it up yet but I think once after the ESIP Summer Meeting ends next week I'll focus on concluding #122 first. There are a number of comments pending feedback - including from you - that I want to make sure don't go unaddressed before starting this one. Feel free to jump in if you like; otherwise I'll come back to it once I get a chance.
