Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Your project is an integral part of many computer applications, and as you've stated, it is installed over 100 million times. And you should secure some funding for all the hard work needed to maintain this project.
Describe the solution you'd like
I'd like a solution where individuals, but more importantly, organizations like Valve, Adobe, Amazon, etc., can effectively sponsor this project.
Describe alternatives you've considered
I've considered perhaps setting up a Patreon page, a Ko-fi page, a GitHub Sponsorship, and an Open Collective.
I think that Patreon is mostly geared towards content creators, so maybe not the best for developers
Ko-fi I think it is good; I've seen other developers have Ko-fi pages
GitHub Sponsor is another option that I think is good too, though I think individuals mostly use it to sponsor rather than organizations
Open Collective is what I think should at least be set up, I believe it's a good platform, and it has organizations [1][2][3] already contributing to open source projects
Additional context
I think it's okay, and open-source developers should be encouraged to secure funding. Otherwise, a developer like you would be basically doing free work while some company will use your work and profit billions from it, not give a penny back. While those kinds of companies can't really be stopped, I think you should open up for companies who do care for open source development and also to get a cut of the pie because we all live our own lives and have bills to pay, so I think you should explore options for securing funding for CEF.
