Describe the Bug

My main playlist randomly now doesn't play on Cider (works fine on Apple Music app/web player). I don't know whether this is an issue of a maximum number of songs Cider can deal with in a single playlist since mine is extremely long but as of yesterday it has stopped letting me play in any way. Every other playlist I have works fine.

Steps to Reproduce

Open my main playlist, click play, shuffle or play an individual song.

Anything else?

I'm having the same issue on my playlist: https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/dreamhop-chill-lofi-beats/pl.u-55Y6sYdGzrz

Was working last week 🤷‍♂️

EDIT: Seems to have been fixed for me in the last Patch. Thank you

Not working for me either. It's been a week or two since the playlist that I mentioned above stopped working in Cider

Please check your language settings in Settings > General > Apple Music. Make sure they are both selected to Auto.

Both were already set to Auto. I now have an additional issue where Cider doesn't show any of my playlists on the left hand side under the playlists tab. This app is genuinely now unusable for me and that's really sad.

Maybe take a look at what I said in #646

Thanks, I've enabled legacy playlist retrieval and that's fixed the playlists being invisible. Just need my playlist to be able to be played now and we're good

Can you open devtools with Ctrl+Shift+I, click console in the top (if not already selected), and try to queue the playlist. Please screenshot any error (red) text you see. I would also like to ask if you could disable legacy retrieval and reload the app and do the same, so we can find out why you were not getting the playlists originally.

There are then multiple pages of that same error message, then it concludes with this

Now, for the version with legacy retrieval disabled:

Then multiple pages of insufficient resources, concluding with:

Do all your playlists appear on Apple Music web? As for the insufficient resources error, do you have a lot of playlists, or all your playlist are very large?

I don't have masses of playlists (I'd estimate 30 at ABSOLUTE most) and most are fairly short, it's just my main one which is massive (3500+ songs). Apple Music app and web both pick up all of them and play them with little issue

Hello again!

We have noticed you have not replied for a while. Unfortunately, our team are not always able to get to issues as quickly as we would like. So, if you can help us out by providing the following information, we can get back to you as soon as possible:

Could you please ensure your client is as up-to-date as possible, this can be done by using the experimental release on Taproom (if possible), and using the PTB release through the in-app updater.

Then could you please let us know if the issue is still present, and if so, provide the version you are using and if any changes have been noticed since the issue was reported?

This would be a great help for us to identify issues that have been resolved.

Please aim to let us know within the next 14 days, otherwise we will close this issue.

Thanks for your help! 😃

Hi.

I've done as asked and installed the PTB release (version 2.6.1 (PTB 150)) and the issue is still present as playing any song in the playlist will result in a failure to play any music.

I've today noticed a couple of quirks: if I hit the play button for the entire playlist, it'll play in playlist order and it will also play if I hit the shuffle button at the top of the playlist, but I keep my playlist in descending order and tend to start it by playing a recently added track and shuffling which I currently cannot do.

Please let me know if you need me to do anything in developer mode to show what happens when I hit the play or shuffle buttons on the playlist, or if you'd like me to try anything else.
