Since CKAN supports markdown, we could be using markdown in our abstracts. We could considering using a package like https://uiwjs.github.io/react-md-editor/ if we want to support formatting the abstract text. Eg to italicize species names, etc. But if we do go this route we should make clear that the abstract is supposed to be short and not full of lists, etc.

At SLGO we started to use markdown to answer various issues (e.g. show a laboratory logo https://catalogue.preprod.ogsl.ca/fr/dataset/ca-cioos_84d55eb9-a8a4-4e89-bcd3-a8ad1d7083c5).
"But if we do go this route we should make clear that the abstract is supposed to be short and not full of lists, etc." - Agree, is it something to bring to the data-stewarship group ?
