This is more of a design question, rather than a bug. I would like to discuss before I open an MR, using the UUID rather than the alias. Currently the alias is used for at least the zonename, and zfs dataset.
The zcage tooling should still allow us to use the name, or UUID (I will mainly be using UUID) but the UUID should be used everywhere the reference to the zone is stored.

I like the idea, I think the alias should be just a zone attribute and work with just the UUID on the rest, a description for what's the zone used for also would be nice as a zone attribute.
