What does it mean if "Qt SerialBus Devices" option is greyed out in the New Connection dialog?

Does it mean I need to look at my Qt install, or get a different version of SavvyCAN? Or does it mean I haven't plugged in a compliant serial device?

It means that Qt Serial Bus plugins are not installed.

Oh, that is helpful. I did try install-qt.sh --version 6.7.2 qtserialbus and it did not work. It said,
Could not determine a remote URL for qtserialbus with version 6.7.2

I am not sure if that is the same thing at Qt Serial Bus plugin?

I am having problems on Linux, so today I tried the 20240514 build on MacOS Sonoma 14.5. It is on MacOS where I found this option greyed out.

In case of MacOS (M1-M3) create "canbus" directory and copy QtSerialBus plugins.
For a quick try you can use plugin for a TouCAN adapter.It is for Qt v.6.6.1 but should work for 6.7.2 as well.

I have been able to compile SavvyCAN. Qt... not so much.

For others searching for a solution, note there** is** a help file available for this Connections window. On MacOS, browse to Applications/SavvyCAN.app/Contents/MacOS/help directory and open connectionwindow.md with a text editor.
