git and GitHub are specialized tools aimed for developers. Their learning curve isn't exactly the most easy to follow, especially to non-tech savvy folks. I need to think of a better solution to accommodate them better while also keeping revision control tools. Here are some of the options I thought about:

  • Create a wiki (possibly using MediaWiki) with integration with GitHub. Determine a routine to pull recent changes from the wiki to this repository and organize them in commits.
  • Create a website (possibly static) presenting our content in a more friendly way. Maybe use Hugo or any other static website generator. Use this repository structure to then organize content in categories and such using a gh-pages branch.

Requirements:

  • Must be easy to read and explore
  • Must have integration with a revision control tool
