Guideline 2.1 - Performance - App Completeness
Issue Description
The app exhibited one or more bugs that would negatively impact App Store users.
Bug description: We were unable to access the app when 'Enable internet connections' message prompted for enabling the internet connection. The app only showed a black screen when we dismissed the message and the Wi-Fi was enabled.
Review device details:
Device type: iPhone 13 mini
OS version: iOS 18.1
Next Steps
Test the app on supported devices to identify and resolve bugs and stability issues before submitting for review.
If the bug cannot be reproduced, try the following:
For new apps, uninstall all previous versions of the app from a device, then install and follow the steps to reproduce.
For app updates, install the new version as an update to the previous version, then follow the steps to reproduce.
Guideline 2.1 - Information Needed
We need a video that demonstrates the current version, 3.0.0, in use on a physical iOS device, pairing and interacting with the designated hardware.
Specifically, we need a demo video that shows background mode: location and Bluetooth.
The demo video should:
Show the app running on a physical iOS device, not on a simulator.
Clearly documents all relevant app features, services, and user permission requests.
Next Steps
Provide a link to the video in the App Review Information section of your the app’s page in App Store Connect and reply to this message. A screen recorder can be used to capture footage of the app in use. Note that if the app can only be reviewed with a demo video, updated demo videos will need to be provided for every app submission.
The app is conducting health-related human subject research, but we were unable to locate all of the required consent disclosures and you have not demonstrated approval from an independent ethics review board.
Next Steps
You must obtain consent from research participants or, in the case of minors, their parent or guardian. The consent form must disclose:
The nature, purpose, and duration of the research
Procedures, risks, and benefits to the participants
Information about confidentiality and handling of data (including any sharing with third parties)
A point of contact for participant questions
The withdrawal process
If consent from research participants is secured outside of the app, you must:
Attach a copy of the consent form. If it does not include the required information listed above, update it to include this information.
Include a login feature in the app so only participants who've previously given their consent can participate in the research.
Apps conducting health-related human subject research must secure approval from an independent ethics review board. Please provide proof of such approval. You can attach proof in the App Review Notes section of App Store Connect.
