[Request] allow for custom bounds on fence, wall, etc

I'd love to be able to use the North/South/East/West/Up functionality for blocks that connect to eachother, similar to the wall, fence, pane, etc, but have a custom bounding box. This would allow for cool things both decorative and functional.
