Unit-specific branding

Mann and RMC feel pretty strongly about having unit library-specific branding. Eveline suggested this could be standardized, in some way. She would like to see this happen sooner rather than later.

@cappadona @starsplatter @kaw5 I made a quick mockup of simple unit branding. I don't know if this is possible, but perhaps there could be a select list in an exhibit config where you select the unit library, and then it displays in the header? Thoughts?

You're referring to the Olin & Uris Libraries text above the exhibit title, correct? If so, I would welcome that feature but don't consider it a deal breaker if it can't happen.

@cappadona Yep, that little "Olin & Uris Libraries" is it. Eveline seemed to feel strongly about this, but I would need to rely on you or @starsplatter to build it, I think. RMC definitely seemed to have interest in some sort of unit branding as well.

Thanks for confirming. I'm not sure this would really address what Eveline was asking about when we met with her. I don't know this for a fact, but my understanding was that she was trying to get a sense about the extent of visual customization per exhibit and this is why she referred us to the one-off sites from the existing virtual exhibits out of Mann.

I can double-check with her. To be clear, I don't think it's a bad idea to identify the unit as you proposed, I'm just saying that some units might have something else in mind when they hear branding ;)

Yes, I believe RMC would appreciate the unit branding as well. Is it correct to assume there would be a way to have that masthead graphic be different for each exhibition?

@kaw5 Yes, the masthead can be changed in each exhibit.

@cappadona Cool, please check with Eveline. I came away from that meeting thinking it could be something simple and consistent for all units, but you would probably know better than me! :)

As discussed today, Jenn will email the spotlight list to see if anyone else is working on adding a new field to the config. As an alternative, we discussed using the existing Tags feature. But no one thinks this is a show-stopper, and we can wait to hear back from the list.
