Hi, There are a few ways that this can be solved for currently. The easiest would be to add a separate screen for birthdays and link it to a birthday calendar with a birthday background. On birthday's you can reassign the device to show the screen which will automatically display the name of the person and the desired background. Another alternative option is to create another calendar block linked to the birthdays calendar and another background linked to the birthday photo. Hide both blocks when there are no birthdays and unhide when you want them displayed, layed over the normal blocks used for day to day use. |

Yep, this is exactly how I currently do our family birthdays, but definitely not a desirable solution. The proper way is to be able to set it and forget it... that's the true way any home automation device (such as a DAKboard) should work. It would also be helpful if you could set a range of dates too. I always update the background wallpaper for each season/holiday, so allotting times for the different seasons (Lent, Advent, Christmas, Halloween, etc.) would be very nice. Seems like it would be pretty easy to allow a photo block to be enabled via a preset date... or range of dates. Added bonus would be to have multiple dates in a single photo block and designate the 'photoset' for each -- this way, you don't have to waste a block for each event. |

Thank @jsu1995, I think that is an logical problem to solve here based on that use case. If this receives enough traction we will plan to groom this request and determine a path forward. Thank you for your feedback. |

Thanks for the workaround ideas! I’ll definitely give them a shot and see how it goes.

Converting this into a discussion until we make a decision to groom the LOE on this case. |

Maybe there's a workaround to achieve this, but I haven't found it yet. I was wondering if there was a way to have some rotating photos, but then schedule certain ones to show up only on specific days.
For example: we use our board in a corporate breakroom. I have a calendar with birthdays and anniversaries displaying on the side, but would like a large image of "Happy Birthday ..." to show up on that person's birthday in my featured image area. Haven't found a nice way to do this without manually adding and removing images on my end on those days.
Anyone have a suggestion or could this be a future feature?
Thanks!
