Adding Python scripts to Dakboard to toggle screen on/off with switch

Is it possible to run python scripts on the Dakboard OS? I have a raspi 4 with the 7" touchscreen running dakboard and I would like to be able to toggle the screen on and off with a switch.
Any ideas on how to do that? I could not find manuals...

Hi @DrSchaumi,

You can run these scripts from a few locations in the operating system, depending on if they are time sensitive or not I would recommend the following options.

in the following autostart file, in no particular order all commands are run when the pi user logs onto the device:
/etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart

If the command needs to be run later, it can be appended to the end of the final run.sh script that opens the chromium window to start the DAKboard screen here:
/home/pi/startup/run.sh
