Can you enable icloud / ical access via the apple 1 time passcode? This way we don't have to make our calendars public on the internet to be public in our kitchen?

Unfortunately, Apple has no published REST API available that we could use to retrieve event data. These app-passwords are essentially a AppleID Login substitution that is restricted, but using it for this purpose is limited to routines provided via their EventKit SDK (see https://developer.apple.com/documentation/eventkit/ekeventstore/1507547-requestaccess ); the EventKit SDK, however, isn't applicable to Web Apps (such as DAKboard), but instead to IOS and macOS Apps.

If this ever changes, however, we certainly would love to integrate with an iCloud Calendar REST API!

Somehow Aura has figured out how to do this, and it would be really nice to have my family photos as the background to my DAKboard instead of stock photos

Before trialing Dakboard, I trialed Mango Display and they have instituted the feature to add a calendar using Apple's app password. I think this would be a great way to integrate the calendar to Dakboard versus using a fully public calendar link.

https://support.apple.com/en-us/102654 Link to the Apple One-Time password site. As with Google and Microsoft, this will allow us to access Apple accounts directly, however, we will still need to develop how we will use this access in our systems.

Currently, as described above, we do this with REST APIs which Apple does not have. Instead, they have their EventKit SDK. We would have to build an infrastructure into our platform that would be able to use this to access the Data. This, unfortunately, is still not a possible integration for us. We are still looking into this and hope to include it in the future.

I just started a Dakboard trial and the thing with the Apple Calendar integration caught me as well. Looking for a solution I stumbled across this article and thought maybe it might be helpful (though I'm not a developer, so it might as well be nonsense):
