Since the last update some rules will randomly ceases to work. Dis- and reenabling the affected rules(s) makes them work again. But because a random amount of rules randomly ceases to work it's safer to dis- and reenable the whole plugin. Btw. all my rules are set to local.

Plugin Version: 3.5.3
FF-Version: 81.0.1
All plugins in activation order: uBlock, uMatrix, Man in the Middle

Does the issue persist? What are the types of the rules that stop working?

In generell I noticed this with header rules but content script where also affected. But I dis- and reenable the whole plugin in this case to fix all rules. I'm not storing any cookies and therefore have some rules that inject the cookie banner confirmation cookies into requests. That's why I instantly see, if a rule no longer works. I was also unable to reproduce this behavior actively, it just happens randomly. Best way to reproduce this should be to disable cookies for your most frequent sites and send them through header rules.

EDIT: I was able to create a mostly working preproduction way:

  1. Open Firefox fresh with the blank tabs page open (no previously opened tabs only the new tab page should be open).
  2. Use the Mouse3 to open a random page, and then the test page
  3. Switch to the tab with the test page and open a couple of more tabs for the same domain with Mouse3.
  4. The first/second and all consecutive should fail to inject header rules.

Test with https://www.golem.de/ticker/ as the test page and cookie:golem_consent20=simple|200801 as the header rule.

I stripped my browser from everything unnecessary and can still reproduce it. The following link contains my cleaned up browser. Maybe you might take a look inside the user.js file, because I changed a bunch of about:conifg rules. To reproduce the error, simple

  1. open the Browser
  2. use mouse middle button to open heise and then golem
  3. switch to the tab with golem.de
  4. open a couple of news with mouth middle button.

After the first 1-2 golem tabs, every consecutive one will show you the cookie warning and therefore the rule for it no longer works. After dis/reenabling it, it will work again until you close the browser.
