The idea is to have tooling enabling to produce a regional map of Europe with a single command, so that maps can be shared on the Internet before the French elections

i should start again from Mapping the household incomes at NUTS2 level here. There is also an useful tutorial

Naming seems to be quite consistent, so search_eurostat('NUTS 3') returns 141 relevant results, all are datasets. Many are not interesting to me, as they refer to intellectual property and patents.

This dat <- get_eurostat('crim_gen_reg', time_format='num') is a way to get info about registered crimes. In the tutorial, there are also hints about how to visualise it on a map

The repo was created, the project started. Information from this issue will be turned into docs as per open-europe/mur#2
