title: Ben Trevett | Stuff
---

Stuff

Here's a bunch of stuff I've done. Some of it bad, some of it really bad. My major projects I'm working on (that will never see the light of day) are:

Using deep learning to assess source code.

A statically typed, stack-orientated concatenative programming language interpreted in Haskell.

A toy operating system written in Rust.

Difference

Some sort of maths game with horrible UI called Difference.

Ashambly

A toy assembly like language interpreted in Python. Found here

Morse Code - 2016

A simple morse code reader that needs more work done. Press spacebar to type, backspace to delete everything, here.

Some JS Stuff - 2016

I don't really know, flip and spookytext.

Water - 2016

Some JS water, found here here.

Brainfuck Interpreter - 2016

Made a Brainfuck interpreter in Python, found here.

Website Scrapers - 2016

Made a Python script to scrape problem solutions for codeforces and codechef, found here and here.

Build Your Own Lisp - 2016

Worked through Build Your Own Lisp to create a lisp interpreter in C, found here.

CRUD in JS - 2016

A simple create, read, update and delete (CRUD) application in Javascript, here.

Haskell Notes - 2016

Notes written down whilst learning Haskell to explain basic principles, found here.

NXP Cup - 2016

Final year university project was to build and program a 1/16th scale self driving vehicle that would compete against other universities in an international competition as part of the NXP Cup.
The vehicle successfully qualified in the UK qualifier, however did not make it through the European qualifier.
Report can be found here.

AES in VHDL - 2016

Second final year university project was to create a working AES cryptosystem in VHDL on an FPGA, with the main aim of being a 'low area' implementation.
Report can be found here.

Glucoduino - 2015

Third year university project where I used the Arduino platform to create a device for the remote monitoring of glucose levels, using mobile phones. Report can be found here.
Continued work on the project as part of the Sheffield Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) to add near-field communication (NFC) capabilities. Report can be found here.
This work was selected to represent the University of Sheffield in the Houses of Parliament as part of the Posters in Parliament scheme.
