Why is Donaueschingen (and other stations) found for "düs" #18

If we search using location.name for düs:

http://open-api.bahn.de/bin/rest.exe/location.name?input=d%C3%BCs&authKey=<KEY>&format=json

We get:

Düsseldorf Hbf
Düsseldorf Flughafen
DÜSSELDORF FLUGHAFEN (DUS)
Düren
Donaueschingen
Züssow
Brüssel Nord
Brüssel Süd

Why Donaueschingen? Why Düren? Etc. Some kind of Soundex algorithm?
