Dojo should determine the necessary requirements in a widget design system and then adopt and adhere to it. We intend for people to create their own widgets from the building blocks that Dojo provides. If we tell devs how to create widgets in the Dojo way, then those widgets will perform well and survive Dojo upgrades with hopefully minimal changes.
A lot of the design system listed above seem to follow the Atomic Web Design methodology. This can tend to break down for anything above atoms and molecules. See this article and scroll down to “Approach”. It’s important to provide clear, reasonable design principles and not worry too much about adhering strictly to design metaphors.
