Notice: if you are updating from v1.2.2 then you don't need to reinstall everything from scratch as the only thing that changed was the kernel.
So feel free to just download the debian.img from the kernel folder in the repository and update the one you have on your USB drive and just use the BOOT function so that the kernel you have on your PSC gets overwritten.
Changelog:
- Several changes in the kernel because enough is enough. All the debug stuff and other various useless things are gone. The kernel provided by Mediatek is borked and we can't do anything about this, so I just suppressed all the various warnings and completely disabled most of the debug flags.
- Changed the scheduler from realtime to the standard one. This might make latencies (game pad, mouse, keyboard, MIDI, etc.) higher, but you could see a slight improvement in performance, which is always welcome.
- As a consequence, I've enabled another SMT scheduler which should manage the 4 cores of the A35 ARM CPU better. I've run a couple benchmarks and there are some slight performance boosts here and there.
- Removed the 1000Hz USB polling which was probably causing lots of issues when several USB devices were connected at once and set it back to the standard 125Hz polling rate.
- Probably other stuff I don't remember
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS GOING TO BE THE FINAL RELEASE FROM ME, I WON'T WORK ON THIS ANYMORE.
