This request had been raised before, and was rejected by the owner (see here) But @dpguthrie invited others to submit a pull request implementing the functionality.

Some time ago, I did a quick-and-dirty patch to yahooquery in a virtual environment to try to implement this. It worked, but my code is certainly not of a quality that could be submitted as a PR. Here are the key points that I remember from the exercise: Since the user needs to be logged in to run custom screens (though a subscription is not required), the functionality could only work in yahooquery if the selenium library is installed (same as the premium features). In addition, the user id/guid field needs to be captured during login and added to the screener query parameters. I believe that was done in prior versions of the library, but not in the current one.

I keep going back and forth on whether custom screeners would be a worthwhile addition to yahooquery. If enough people think so, maybe we can rally the energy to submit a PR. I can't focus on this right now, but I'll check back in a few weeks, to see if there's demand. If someone else is able to move this forward, please do. It's certainly doable.

+1, would love to have the customer filter function as well.
