Within the app, we need to be able to fetch and display Ecosystems like shown in the designs (see Designs attribute of this task on the Drips AI board).

The main parts we need to figure out:

  • Do we use cosmograph.app as our graph visualization library, or something else?
  • What format do we send the nodes & edges to the frontend from our new ecosystems backend server?

Just to record our conversation a little bit:

Cosmograph is great, but we may eventually be considered commercial and there is no transparent fixed pricing model that I can see. We may be able to rely on our open-source benevolence to secure a reduced amount or our crypto-ness could run things in the other direction.

I brought up Ogma in our chat and determination of representation formats. Ogma falls also under the commerical license umbrella.

A nice fully-open source alternative could be https://www.sigmajs.org/, but today (?!) it seems like their website went down so I'm a little worried.
