Times for the DSI Space

We really want everyone to use the space and spend quality time there, interacting with each all of us and sharing ideas and information. Two things we need you to know are

• when the DSI space is open and when you need to not be there, and
• what to do in an emergency.

Basically, you need to leave the DSI space 15 minutes before Shields library closes. The closing times are always available at https://www.library.ucdavis.edu/ul/about/hours/. Please make certain you do this. It will cause major problems if you are not out of the library when it closes. There is no public announcement system in the library so there is no audible warning it is closing. So please be aware of the closing times. They do change, especially with holidays.

A fun project for you all to create is to generate an audible warning within the DSI space when the library is closing. You can have the application read the current day's closing time and have it give a shriek within the space.

In the event of a fire, earthquake, etc., exit the DSI space and go down the stairs near the water faucet at the classroom/seminar room door. Go down to the ground level and out the emergency exit door. Then go to the right onto the main road and congregate so those in charge can account for everybody.
