Reading in zarr-formatted data

Hi,
I'm wondering whether there are plans for the METplus team to add the capability to read in zarr-formatted data, e.g. from AI forecast models. If so, is there a timeline on when that capability will be available?

Hi Gerard,

Thanks for your question! This work (capability to read in zarr-formatted data) has recently been proposed under a potentially new DTC T&E activity geared at AIWP evaluation. I will let @KathrynNewman and @VanderleiVargas-NOAA comment further, but the work would hopefully commence in late Spring/early Summer if funded.

Hey Gerard,

As Michelle mentioned, we are planning on implementing that feature on METplus with a new project that would start later this year. We can probably come up with a temporary solution for now.
