Apparently the user received 3 emails throughout the workflow

Important because this is the flow we use for our enterprise users

During the signup process, I changed my name from "damien" / "detcherry" to "Damien" / "Detcherry".

Investigation going on in this sister issue, the issues seem to have the same root cause

^ discussed IRL with pauline, it was a trial to login with different accounts ([email protected] V [email protected])

As per the initial issue of receiving multiple emails, @spolu reported another situation by email on Dec 12 with spolu+casa

The timelines are to be confirmed: logs show there are multiple workspaces for all the users. At each workspace creation, there's an email. Damien detcherry had 3 workspaces => 3 emails --- althought 1 of them would be from ~10 days earlier

To be checked if his second workspace was created accidentally by him or by us

Issues barring investigation:

  1. "welcome" email seems to be outside our codebase completely --- contrary to other emails (via sendEmail, sendgrid.send, grepping message content or common welcome variable names...)
  2. outside our logs too
  3. can't see them in sendgrid too => on the activity log on my tests, only invitation emails & email verification emails appear, not the welcome emails (tested with prod accounts)

3 might be due to my (prolet) sendgrid account having restrictions? There are mentions of a common sendgrid account on one password, but I don't have any access to it from my 1 password

Sitrep for this issue
For damien the ongoing hypothesis is:

  • 1 email for his amblea.fr signup on Nov 19
  • 1 for the workspace creation with his gmail adress on Dec 2, 1:07pm
  • 1 for the spolu workspace join on Dec 2, 1:09pm

Next steps:
