Illustration in Text Based Game

Illustration might not be commonly seen in text based games though personally it'd be fun to implement into a game like this. The reason I believe it'd be fun is because you as the player are reading events and are being told what is around you.

Illustration would bring out the details of the game, you'd be drawn into the game even more. Think about how immersive you'd feel when playing this game! How when playing the game, not only are you in control of how your story unfolds, you're also seeing the environment and details, in a text based game

Tell me that isn't a good idea. From my knowledge, there aren't any text based games that also have illustration and the freedom to choose your own story. Please share your thoughts I'd love to hear them!
