All files gone

I haven't opened the app in a while so I didnt accidentally delete anything. So today I open the app and everything I wrote over the span of months is gone. Is there a way to get it back?? I don't have any backups on my pc or anything so I guess it's lost forever but hopefully there's a solution.
I've used this app for years and never had problems. :(

I changed my phone and had all my writings in the previous phone, I opened that phone today after many months and all of my files are gone, more than 2 years of my writing is all gone. I didn't even checked my phone so I don't know how it just disappeared. Please respond because it had a lot of my work.

I never managed to recover my files I’m afraid. I was absolutely gutted. Going forward, I set up a what’s app group with just me and my husband in it, then kicked him out of it so it’s just me in the ‘group’. I now message myself with notes.
