USB charging of uv5R plus devices

Dear all, I just stumbled over a smart solution for charging radios without USB charge capability like the UV5R plus radio and want to share it with you:

unfortunately the 2200 mAh battery is too thick, does not fit, clips can not open that wide

You still have to carry the damned charger. Why not just buy K6? It is literally the same radio.

The printing solution (thingiverse) takes time and patience but can be rewarding.

I used the brass plate (not the one in the link but similar) for the positive and negative in contact with the radio body (photo in thingiverse - mine is the one I painted)

For the connection and release system from the radio body you can use a negative pole plate since it is equipped with a spring, to be honest here it seems you need to do a bit of testing before definitively gluing, I think for a couple of reasons, probably the stl file in those details is not precise enough, and also because we are talking about tenths of a millimeter and from my modest experience with a 3D printer it is difficult to obtain results of sufficient precision when just a tenth of error can be problematic, and perhaps also because the spring I used is placed on a plate which therefore limits the excursion a little, however these are tests that must be done empirically, for example in my case I had to use a cutter to further shape the two hooks.

Tested... a UVK5 battery fits directly on a UV5RPlus.
So buying this 2600mA is not a bad idea:

• more capacity.
• can be charged on original table charger
• can be charged with USB-C cable.

The other way around is only possible if a tab in the middle is mechanically removed on the originally-battery (2200mA) from the UV5RPlus.
