What Happened?

The login modal is updated as long as no Bluetooth devices are connected, meaning that I can see characters while typing. When a (previously linked) BT device is touched, the modal freezes and no visual updates are made. When the modal visually freezes, it's still possible to log in by typing the password and hitting enter. But there's no visual feedback.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Type a few characters on the internal keyboard
  2. Characters show up
  3. Touch the mouse (make sure the cursor moves)
  4. Any input is no longer propagated to the UI

Expected Behavior

Visual updates should remain, regardless of device connections, before logging in.

OS Version

8.x (Early Access)

Session Type

Classic Session (X11, This is the default)

Software Version

Latest release (I have run all updates)

Log Output

No response

I can confirm this exact behaviour too. Thank you for pointing out that it was caused by starting using a Bluetooth device because it was driving me crazy. I use a Bluetooth keyboard and in the very moment I type a key, there isn't any single visual update.

This happens in the released eOS 8 version too.
