“far2l” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software

Downloaded far2l-2.6.3-beta-MacOS-11.2-universal.dmg, ran it (it copied far1l to Applications), then ran it from there. Got the following error:

Same if installed via brew.

far2l is not digitally signed, as me don't want to buy certificate for that, however there is documented workaround: Apple
