AoB

  • Mail from Elinux-discuss mailing list (via lists.elinux.org). Subject: [Elinux-discuss] How to start multi-entity embedded work on specific topics? (boot time, for example)
    • While boot time may not be a good use case, the overall idea is great.
    • There is no umbrella project compared to LF Networking, Energy, CNCF.
    • Overlap between Emdedded verticals.
    • Embedded is an own world in the Linux ecosystem. Embedded projects are often also more constraint compared to cloud.
    • Examples for an umbrella are: Xen, Zephyr, CIP, AGL, ELISA, Yocto. The projects going to Embedded world is another example.
    • The Systems WG also had/has the intention of creating a place to meet and be an umbrella for embedded Systems.
      • A Linux in Embedded is typically not isolated. It interacts with other system elements like RTOS on µCs.
    • It makes sense to figure out a good "business case" for creating an umbrella organisation.
    • Many things are done over and over again. This could be something to improve.
