Is there a way to reference a dynamic variable name?

For example:

(defvar show-section-1 false)

)

Another example use case is

(defwidget foo [boolname]
    (eventbox
        :onhover "eww update ${boolname}=true"
        :onhoverlost "eww update ${boolname}=false"

        (revealer
            :reveal boolname

            (box [...])
        )
    )
)

Unfortunately, there is not (to my knowledge) a way to reference state variables dynamically, though using ${boolname}=true as in the second example should work
