Thank you. I was taking it that way only, my apologies if I came across otherwise. It is indeed a great feeling to know that I am working on something that is useful to people enough for them to spend the effort to try and self host.
While I don't necessarily agree with all your points, but I agree with your overall conclusion - it would be so much nicer if more people could use/experience Ente. So no disagreements there. However, what you're requesting is currently just not feasible. The setup that your provider gives you limits it to traditional LAMP applications, and Ente has a very different architecture. Rewriting the entire server in php (it is currently in go) is not something that is going to happen at this point.
So it is not possible, unfortunately. In any case, thank you for the suggestions and generally for checking Ente out. Hopefully the stars align better sometime soon in the future! |

I'm also interested in Ente for the LAMP stack. |

In this discussion : Allow for custom server for frontend apps I received a reply from @mnvr :
When I said I don't have enough technical skills, I meant: Fork Your Repository and adapt it to the hosting environment.
I want to use your application because it is great. I appreciate the great work that has been done
What server applications require the Ente server app?
(My hosting provider gives me access to new php, apache, MySQL, Composera e.g laravel SSL, Direct Admin, etc)
You already have docker version of the server app (Ente). Please, Consider the self-hosted version (if some hosting meets the above requirements). I know my request for a self-hosted version of Your app is expensive, but look at it this way:
Docker: https://hub.docker.com/r/linuxserver/piwigo
Self-Hosted: https://github.com/Piwigo/Piwigo?tab=readme-ov-file
I hope my request wont be taken as a demand. I wanted to know if this is possible? I respect your opinion and decision (whatever it may be) so let's discuss :)
P.S. Maybe this will add a new point: "self-hosted" to the table: Ente_vs_GPotos
