Account deletion shouldn't lead to local data loss

Due to some issues with my photos account, I kindly requested an account deletion. Unfortunately, this action also resulted in the loss of my 2FA data (Android) since it is associated with the same account across all of your products. When I tried to access my data using the authenticator app, it displayed a message indicating that the connection had timed out, leaving me unable to retrieve my information.

Could you please clarify if I will lose access to my local data whenever the app can't authenticate the account because it doesn't exist anymore or was changed otherwise? It appears that this may be the case.

The data stored locally should remain accessible!
