maybe bug only affects nested folders. simple fix to put this whole block in a closure --I called it delayed-- and then do

let folderPath = path.dirname(documentFile.path);
fs.mkdir(folderPath, {recursive: true}, function(err) {
    delayed();
})

happy to submit a PR if this repo is still maintained.
