This commit fixes the output format of the image for normalisecolor. It was returning RGBA (instead of RGB) which was breaking things.

What's wrong with the Alpha channel being present? This seemed to work for me with the samples shared

Not 100% sure what was going on, but I was unable to 'normalise' any of the photos returned from the colourisation function. It definitely had something to do with the alpha channel because as soon as I added the flags to normalisecolor above, it started working.
