This library is used in another project and I opened an issue there already.
A not totally wrong comment asked me, if I have created a bug in this library, since the other projects maintainer only uses this library and doesn't understand it's inner workings fully.
I also do not understand the inner workings of this library fully (not at all), but I looked through the code GitHub and for me it seems like noTone() is not implemented. Maybe this helps (or it is also possible, that I simply do not get it from what I see on GitHub)...?
