Suggest a manufacturer by general public without sign-in

This feedback was received by the region Paris:

Paris has identified a barrier for its citizens to engage with Make Works. At a workshop, it was mentioned by several stakeholders that there is "no function" to suggest a manufacturer without directly making a listing.

Potentially there could be feature added in the future which enables users to take a picture or pin a manufacturer on a map (without having to sign up/ easy access needed e.g. by phone) The suggestion can then be followed up by a region champion.

Hello Jess.

That shouldn't be a problem. I've modified the code so that a company can be created without having to be logged in.

Now here's a few questions:

• How would we want the user do add a manufacturer? A button that says "Suggest manufacturer" ? If so, where would we want this button? I've added it to the /companies page at the bottom of the filters for now (see screenshot attached)
• Do we want other ways to create a manufacturer? You mentioned dropping a pin. It could be doable, might need more playing around so could be for later.
• Should the region Champion(s) be notified that a new suggestion was made? That'd mean that the person suggesting the manufacturer would have to specify an address or a region.
• If not then maybe it could advise the admins?

P.S. the changes are only working on my computer at the moment while we're working on deploying the changes to the staging-makeworks website.

To add to this: the without sign in is a great idea. But currently we are being flooded with fake user and company accounts. So in case we are further working on this idea. We have to add filters to ensure there are no more fake accounts created.

i think the suggest a manufacture is a great idea. But i feel that needs to be kept simple. 1. Details of the person who is making a suggestion. ( we can call for verification ) 2. Why does he/she feel they are perfect for make works
3. Have they worked with this suggest manufacturer- share images of the project if any. 4. Contact details of the manufacturer.
