As NRI Utah + Oregon, I want to create 2 new types of missions and modify the existing delivery mission slightly, so that I can allow users and organizers to engage in a more ad-hoc, local fashion.

Description:

  • Build/Maintenance--which has a location, # of volunteers needed, and desired date or date range.

  • Resources Available/Needed--which have a location, resources needed/avail (just a description box), and date/date range.

The existing delivery mission will function to cover ALL transport needs for NRI. This will include deliveries of actual food, but also gardening equipment, supplies, harvested goods, volunteer transport.

Acceptance Criteria:

  • All missions will have a description field which is a widely formattable rich-text editor or equivalent.

  • Build missions will have these fields: # of volunteers needed, desired date, date range OR date flexibility, location, build type (build, maintenance, harvest, planting, pruning/thinning, watering, weeding, etc. (hash through exact list thru add’l discussion)), survey complete (yes/no or date completed). Volunteers can filter build missions by build type, date, location--this ties into the map feature in US3.

  • We want specific verbiage on all to build missions (geared towards organizers) that requires a survey/evaluation of the property in question, prior to approving the mission. This will be tied-in to the survey complete field, which will either be boolean or a date/time. The organizer must go through this checklist/form AND complete an actual land survey (or equivalent): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dgVt09WsWbivQZCHEl80XLfZr7Klcc3XIois89cCh5w/edit?usp=sharing

  • Resource Missions will have these fields: resource type (list TBD), location, and expected delivery/pickup date. Users will be able to search by location, resource type, and delivery date.

  • Some way to emphasize food ordering/delivery. We really want to give food away to end-users, and second to that, food banks.

  • All user-roles can create missions of all types, BUT organizers must approve missions prior to them being public/prior to volunteers accepting them.

  • Organizers and the original author of the mission can edit a given mission.

hey @DAHuerta or @utunga! Me, Jordan Williams and Abraham Friedman would like to work on this one together if this project is still ongoing. I don't think they've been added to zenhub so they'll be contacting you @DAHuerta :)

Hi @sarahjoo - I think you should be able to tag me now. I didn't see Abraham username to tag him.

Hello @sarahjoo I think that I have @jordanmswilliams all hooked up with the Zenhub board. I will get in contact with Abe and see if he is connected. Are all 3 of you guys working on this issue? I am about to slide it over to In-Progress.
