password requested multiple times

Thank you for writing this script. I am using it on Big Sur, and it appears that there is an internal timer about how long an entered password may be used, before it forces another password request. Until the password is entered, the script hangs. Can this be solved by running the script within sudo, and entering the password there ? I'm not a script wizard, but that was my first thought.

Before discovering this shell script, I read TN2065, having to do with using AppleScript to run shell scripts, and a very similar question arose. One of the strategies discussed there is to 'modify the sudo security policy'. So there are ways to achieve the desired result, I am not sure which is the least painful to implement.
