Try to publish the jre*.tar.gz available here in your Maven repo: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre8-downloads-2133155.html
They can't be unzipped/untarred byt his plugin as it seems the commons-compress lib does is not able to understand the format.

It's not a problem in commons-compress, that was just my code which was wrong... I'll have to commit the fix
