Impulse response

As a matter of fact, all lti-systems create a time delay. As this system is not meant to be used as regulator, the delay time may not play an important role. However, in high-fidelity audio setups, this delay may affect the performance of the system. For example if tweeters are used in array setups, the time-delay is important for phase-correct replay. For this reason, the time-delay of the freeDSP ALLinONE has been measured and documented. A short rectangular pulse was created and put in the analog input of the board and the response was recorded at the analog output of the TAS-chips. The measured delay was 930us. This is a phase-shift of 180° at 537,6Hz and a 90° phase-shift at 268,8Hz. Therefore this board cannot be used within regulator setups faster than 268Hz.
