@RanaAlqrenawi can you ask two students to take on this task.

They can use http://www.foundersandcoders.com/apply/ as a template.

Once we find two volunteers we can be more specific on what to put in the page.

@besarthoxhaj I passed this to the students, but it seems like they can't find time to do that before finalizing this week project. May be the weekend will be another option. Your thoughts in that?

@RanaAlqrenawi maybe we can put aside one/two days next week where everyone can work on it. Also @mantagen can give some inputs on it e.g. CodeWars scores, get the students to think how to deliver the bootcamp message, etc.

@besarthoxhaj sounds good. Also there is very important issue most of the students still face, the code structure and how they can organize their folders/files to avoid duplicating things. I think we may need to practice this with them again, and @mantagen definitely can help in that. What do you think?

@RanaAlqrenawi @besarthoxhaj Will happily help with both those things. Tomorrow will be working on preparations for next week, I'll try to include time for:

  • Course + Project related time
  • Open time when they can ask questions eg. about file structure etc
  • Building application information website

@mantagen @besarthoxhaj This is awesome ! exited to have you next week Matt!
I'd love to pass the feedback from the students after this week:

  • They need to know the whole frameworks and the different between them/when they can choose to use any of them?
  • They still feel that there is no need to use framework (not all of them, but kind of can't realize the difference between the vanilla and the framework work)/may be because the project this week was simple enough to not feel it in time performance for their productivity for example.
  • They feel dislike Hapi.js ( it made them sad not happy as they said! :D ) , they also suggested new frameworks like Meteor and felt it easiest.
  • They need more time for projects ( 2 days of work is not enough for them )
  • They made the presentation and the work unserious when all of them are working on the same project's idea!

My thoughts in all of that:

  • Have Sunday as the day of speaking more about frameworks, it's benefits, examples, and why and when we may use any of them, prepare them for the next week real projects ( make them aware that they reached the real level of work with real clients )
  • Spread the word regarding to the project/code structure and the way of thinking of that as they have to be aware of the size for the project and the complexity of it as well
  • Have Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for 3 different projects for the 3 groups asking them to build complete project as they will really deliver it to the client ( this will give us a trial period to test their dealing with clients and real projects before the coming 2 weeks / we may choose one from the team to act like product owner at this stage )
  • Thursday for presentation and feedback
