Right clicking on code to copy , paste does nothing.

Verify it's not a duplicate bug report

• I searched for similar bugs reported on GitHub and nobody has reported a similar issue. Search all issuees.

Verify troubleshooting guide is missing steps to solve this issue

• I read Troubleshooting guide on Readme and there is not a guide on how to solve my problem.

Describe the Bug

1. Ask a question that returns code
2. Select some of the code text
3. Right click (or CTRL-C) should copy the selected text
4. Look at the clipboard using Windows-V and nothing was copied.

• Pressing the copy button like Can't Copy-Paste #1 copies all the code, but there does not seem to be any way to copy only part of the code.
• This sounds like Copy-paste bug when used with jupyter extension #162, but occurs with no files open, so I do not see how it it related to Jupyter.

Please tell us if you have customized any of the extension settings or whether you are using the defaults.

@Panometric thanks for reporting the issue. This is unfortunately due to a vs code bug: microsoft/vscode#141080. All VS Code extensions using webviews suffer from it. Though some times if you select something and hit ctrl+c before releasing the mouse selection it can copy properly.

We actually addressed this issue (Labeled with future-release) (We had disabled the right click context menu since it was not really useful) in our internal version and were ready to release it next week, however we have to suddenly take down the extension due to reasons outlined in the issue #239 and our readme. I'll make sure to archive these feature requests and provide to whomever continues the journey as a reference. Our sincere apologies 🙏
