Prepare the attached HTML file or a similar HTML file containing double-byte characters (Japanese, Korean, Chinese, etc.).
Open the file in Cursor editor.
Make changes to the file using Cursor's Chat or Compose feature.
Example: Giving an instruction like "Add the sentence 'Please add english sample text.' to the first paragraph of the English section."
Apply the changes suggested by Chat or Compose.
Check the Japanese, Korean, and Chinese sections outside the changed areas. Character garbling can be confirmed.
Expected Behavior:
After applying code changes using Cursor's Chat or Compose features, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese characters in the file should be displayed correctly without garbling, except for the specifically changed sections.
Actual Behavior:
When applying code changes using Cursor's Chat or Compose features, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese characters in lines not targeted for change become garbled.
Environment:
OS: MacOS 14.6.1 (23G93)
Cursor Version: Version 0.44.9 Commit: 1.93.1
Additional Information:
This issue occurs specifically when applying changes using Chat or Compose features in the Cursor editor.
Characters within the changed lines display correctly.
This issue may occur when using specific character encodings (e.g., UTF-8).
The issue has been confirmed in HTML files, code comments, and user-facing text.
This issue significantly reduces development efficiency when using Cursor in double-byte character environments (environments using Japanese, Korean, Chinese, etc.).
Resolving this issue is expected to increase the number of Japanese, Chinese, and Korean users utilizing Cursor.

</p>
</p>
</p>
