Code Color

I noticed that with few exceptions, colors are all defined in the _variables.scss files. I think it would be good to move the definition of the code block background color to the same file, rather than just defining it in the scss/theme/_typography.scss file. Further, there are two very slightly different colors used (248 vs 250 gray values) for the language- code blocks and the not language- ones. Is there a reason they are not the same?
